Never heard of it, you might say. Yet every day you have products in your hand that have been made by packaging technologists (m/w/d). And this diverse profession, which has a promising future, therefore offers above-average options for advancement. If you have a good level of manual dexterity, like working at technically demanding machines and think you would enjoy working in a young and highly motivated team, then we can offer you the opportunity to do so!
During the course of your 3-year apprenticeship to become a packaging technologist (m/f/other), you will learn all about the manufacture of flexible, individual packaging from card and paper. You will assist our machine operator in the setting up and retooling of machines, you will learn how to ensure a disruption-free production flow and you will gain insights into production planning. As the functionality and design of packaging are now subject to increasingly high demands, your tasks will also extend to the development of new and innovative packaging solutions.

Quite simple: Packaging technologists (m/f/other) manufacture all the packaging that we come across in our daily lives. And packaging will also be needed in the future.
WHAT DOES a packaging technologist (m/f/other) DO?
Whether it's a gift box, a burger box or a bag for a bread roll – packaging is a part of our everyday lives and we could hardly imagine being without it. It protects the contents of the product, provides a way of advertising it and enables optimal storage. A packaging technologist (m/f/other) develops and produces packaging. They operate highly advanced production systems and ensure a disruption-free production flow. And of course they are responsible for checking the quality of the products, as quality which is appropriate to market requirements is a guarantor for success.
In addition to this, you will get to know other departments – work preparation, quality control and shipping – so that you can get a good overview of all the interfaces to production.
Because we believe that it can never do any harm to take a look at the bigger picture, we also make it possible for you to undertake visits and do internships at upstream companies, suppliers and companies in similar lines of business. After 3 years (or 2½ years if the apprenticeship is shortened), you will sit the final examinations – and if you do well, there is a very good chance we will offer you a permanent position.
As well as good results in your school-leaving examinations (Hauptschule or a higher level), you will need to have some technical knowledge and good spatial awareness. It is equally important to us that you have good perceptive faculties and show a high level of commitment and motivation. If you also enjoy working in a team and are conscientious and responsible, then we really should get to know one another!
